The H rating shows how much protection the timber has for its intended use. H3 is for outdoor use above ground, such as decks and pergolas. H4 is for contact with soil, which is why it is used for sleepers and in-ground posts. Your plans will state which level is required.
F22 is a strength grade for plywood. Our bracing ply is 4mm thick and is fixed to wall frames to stop them racking. We supply it in 2745 and 3045 lengths and 900 and 1200 widths.
Merbau is a dense hardwood with natural tannins. In the first few rains, it can bleed brown stain onto concrete, pavers and nearby surfaces. Oiling or sealing the boards helps hold the colour and protect the surface. We supply Merbau decking in 90×19 and 140×19.
MGP stands for machine-graded pine. Both are machine-sawn pine, and MGP12 is stiffer and stronger than MGP10. The grade you need is set by your plans or engineer. We supply MGP10 from 70×35 up to 290×45, and MGP12 in 90×45.
LVL is made by bonding thin layers of timber veneer, which creates a straight, consistent beam. Standard framing like MGP10 is sawn from solid pine. Our LVL is F17/E14 H2S and is commonly used for beams, lintels and bearers over longer spans.
